This role of EHS Manager reports directly to the Technical Manager within the Technical function. This position is based onsite at Bathford Paper Mill.
We are seeking an EHS Manager to ensure that Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire risk issues at Bathford Mill are minimized and that all statutory, regulatory, and other requirements related to Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire are complied with.
Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities:
To build and develop relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to promote EHS and Fire safety commitment throughout the site.
As a key leader, this role will deliver specific activities and projects to foster effective relationships across all areas of the business.
Develop, maintain, and monitor local EHS & Fire policies, systems, and procedures to meet legislative and operational requirements.
Ensure departmental risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and fire inspections are conducted by line management and followed up with corrective actions. Manage environmental, health, and safety hazards effectively (e.g., COSHH, Noise, Emissions). Provide adequate EHS & Fire training and toolbox talks for all employees.
Investigate all accidental injuries, dangerous occurrences, environmental incidents, and fire incidents thoroughly, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with the trade union to develop a positive safety culture.
Line management responsibility for two part-time cleaners.
