Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with well-renowned firm in the energy sector on the appointment of an EHS Lead.

As the EHS Lead, you will be responsible for supporting senior management in delivering departmental health and safety plans, developing safety management systems, and ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory standards and ISO requirements. The role also involves leading incident investigations, audits, and providing technical process safety guidance across the organisation.

In your new role:

  • Lead the delivery of departmental Health and Safety action plans in line with the wider safety strategy
  • Provide support and guidance to functional leaders across offices, depots, terminals and customer locations
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and safety reviews across all locations and ensure effective reporting and follow-up of non-conformances
  • Oversee and improve processes related to risk assessments (incl. COSHH)
  • Manage and support incident investigations, analysing root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain and update HSE data systems, ensuring all relevant safety documentation is current and compliant
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programmes, including behavioural safety initiatives
  • Support the creation and review of procedures, manuals and safety plans across the business
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure contractor compliance and stakeholder alignment
  • Assist with the implementation of environmental and sustainability improvements
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies
  • Act as a visible champion of HSE principles across the organisation

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience within a similar H&S role
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc)
  • Experience within the Oil/Gas/Energy industry
  • Experience with report writing, auditing, RAMS
  • Knowledge of current HSE Legislation
  • Good communication skills
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
  • Full Clean Driving License

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Degree
  • Additional NEBOSH qualifications (Environmental, Fire Safety, etc)
  • Internal Auditor qualifications - ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
  • Train the Trainer certifications (Manual Handling)
