Job Description
About Your Role

This position will be based at our Thermopatch Sports UK production site, reporting to the operational leader. The role involves driving safety culture and employee engagement across all shifts to enhance safety performance and foster a zero-tolerance safety culture. The candidate should be collaborative, proactive in partnering across functions, adaptable to the evolving manufacturing environment, and capable of developing and implementing a best-in-class safety training program. The EHS and ELS Coordinator will ensure quality standards are maintained and compliance with customer, environmental, health, and safety standards.

The ELS Project Leader is a Lean/Six Sigma expert responsible for utilizing these tools to identify improvement opportunities within the site or functions to enhance business results.

Your Responsibilities
  • Foster a proactive safety culture across all functions, adaptable to the challenges of a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Lead in alignment with Avery Dennison values and conduct standards, embodying the culture daily.
  • Manage EHS functions collaboratively to develop and maintain top-tier accident prevention programs.
  • Implement environmental, health, and safety training supporting regulatory and business needs.
  • Investigate all releases, injuries, and near-misses.
  • Manage Job Safety Analysis and PPE compliance programs.
  • Maintain compliance records for permits and review regulation changes impacting permits and compliance.
  • Oversee safety programs to ensure adherence to corporate audit protocols and customer audit standards.
  • Identify and assess hazards, developing control practices and programs.
  • Manage contractor safety programs to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air quality, etc.).
  • Review incident statistics and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety and sanitary standards are met.
  • Advise and audit frontline leadership on effective EHS implementation.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and lead safety committees.
  • Assist with emergency plans and participate in the Corporate EHS Network.
ELS
  • Develop expertise in Lean Sigma philosophies through training and certification.
  • Analyze supply chain processes to identify and implement improvements, eliminate waste, and maximize quality.
  • Lead and implement assigned projects, acting as a change agent.
  • Mentor others in Lean/Sigma principles and identify project opportunities.
  • Improve site layout and flow, using tools like Value Stream Mapping.
  • Achieve operational productivity gains aligned with budgets and enterprise goals.
  • Track and report on continuous improvement metrics.
  • Oversee the introduction of new assets and processes for optimal performance.
Qualifications
  • Experience in an EHS or similar role within manufacturing.
  • Advanced professional EHS certifications preferred (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lean Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven success in compliance program management.
  • Strong skills in Google Sheets and MS Excel.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally outside.
