Job summary

Surrey County Council is hiring an EHCP Coordination Officer to support our SEND service across Surrey. The role focuses on managing annual reviews, coordinating input from education, health and care services, and ensuring EHCPs are clear, accurate and high quality for families and schools.

We value compassionate, collaborative individuals with strong communication skills who can travel across the county to meet needs, work in a hybrid pattern, and contribute to outstanding outcomes for children

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-level standard or equivalent with demonstrable understanding of SEND and related legislation
  • Willingness to develop knowledge of Surrey's Local Offer across mainstream and special schools
  • Ability to articulate recommendations in written reports with evidence-based interventions
  • Proven ability to write and amend EHCPs and present information for decision-making
  • Experience collaborating with children, families, schools to ensure their views are reflected
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people with SEND
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to build relationships
  • Competence in IT tools including MS Office and database management systems

Responsibilities

  • Working directly with families using a person-centred approach to maintain and update EHCPs
  • Coordinating input from Education, Health and Care services to ensure appropriate support
  • Advising schools and settings to ensure EHCPs are clear, accurate and high quality
