Job summary

Morgan Stanley in London is seeking an eFX Trader Associate to monitor trading systems, manage risk for the eFX trading book, and generate trade ideas.

You will analyse market structure, develop data-driven content, and contribute to client interactions using Bloomberg and Excel.

The role requires a quantitative background (MSc/PhD), deep FX market understanding, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • MSc or PhD in mathematics, physics, or a similar quantitative subject.
  • Extensive know‑how of FX market dynamics for G10 currencies; EM markets helpful.
  • Deep understanding of Macro HF, Macro RM and cross‑asset funds.
  • Strong technical communication and independent working style.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with attention to detail and quick analysis.
  • Familiarity with market making tools; experience with Bloomberg and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the trading system, risk management and researching new opportunities.
  • Creating trade analytics with understanding of market structure.
  • Trading and managing risk for the eFX Trading book.
  • Actively monitoring markets for opportunities in eFX markets.
  • Generating trade ideas and market commentary to expand the business footprint.
  • Managing daily P&L reporting and performing quantitative valuation.
  • Understanding diverse instruments and pricing complex risk.
  • Input into research and trading strategies using data to aid client service.
