Job summary

Advanced Engineering is seeking an experienced Effluent Plant Operator for a 4-month contract in Derby. You will operate the site effluent/wastewater treatment plant within a busy FMCG manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, compliant operation on a day shift.

Key duties include monitoring the treatment process, carrying out routine checks and sampling, managing chemical dosing, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement with engineering and environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Experience operating effluent, wastewater or sewage treatment plants.
• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with environmental requirements and testing procedures.
• Ability to follow health, safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate site effluent treatment plant safely and efficiently.
• Monitor and control treatment processes within parameters.
• Carry out routine checks, sampling and testing.
• Monitor chemical dosing and maintain levels.
• Record readings, sampling, chemical usage and maintenance.
• Respond to alarms and process issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Environmental teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
