We are seeking an IT Supervisor. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will work within a small, skilled IT engineering team to provide 3rd line support for IT/Telephony systems and manage the IT apprenticeship scheme. You should possess broad IT infrastructure skills and experience to deliver high standards of work to user communities and support change projects.

In collaboration with the IT Operations Manager, you will assist in project delivery and system changes, with hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining diverse technologies, focusing on proactive system and user support.

This role requires excellent technical skills to support, maintain, and operate systems. You will work as part of a team but also take responsibility for independent work packages. There will be opportunities to engage in projects and innovate while managing daily support activities.

Key Responsibility Areas

• IT Storeroom Management
• Escalation point for 1st/2nd line support engineers
• Support for acquisition, including site surveys
• Support system setups and onsite installations
• Provide 2nd line IT support daily; 1st line support may be required
• Support system changes and project work independently
• Out-of-hours installations and emergency site visits
• Prioritize mission-critical vs non-critical issues
• Collaborate with the IT Manager to address recurring technical issues and training needs
• Handle digital imaging escalations

Office Work

• Technical escalations
• Identify and define recurring incidents, linking with IT Systems team (problem management)
• Digital imaging escalations
• Line management for apprentices
• Adhere to college/work hours

IT Storeroom Management

• Maintain an organized storeroom
• Manage stock levels and security
• Perform complex on-site fixes
• Install VOIP, firewalls, and thin clients
• Set up sites as needed
