Grounds Maintenance Operative

Drax Power Station - Selby

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader providing green services to private and public sector businesses.

The main purpose of this role is to provide an effective grounds maintenance service. The Grounds Maintenance Operative will be required to have an understanding of garden maintenance and the machinery used to carry out grounds maintenance tasks.

The Opportunity

  • Fixed Term Full time (12 weeks)
  • 40 Hours per week
  • Work outdoors and contribute to the maintenance of open spaces and green spaces
  • Duties include hedge trimming, leaf clearing, shrub bed maintenance, gritting in winter, sweeping, garden clearance, and litter collection

The Person

  • The ideal candidate must be eager to learn, enjoy challenges, be honest, hardworking, reliable, personable, and have an interest in horticulture. We offer a competitive remuneration package tailored to your skills and qualifications.
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and horticulture is desirable but training will be provided.
  • Experience with handheld machinery is desirable but full training will be given.
  • Must hold a full, clean UK driving license.
  • Reliable, conscientious, with a can-do attitude.
  • Willing to wear PPE and comply with regulations.
  • Willing to learn and work independently.
  • Previous grounds maintenance or horticultural experience is preferred.
  • Willing to work evening overtime during winter months with bonus payments.
