Our aim is to re-engage, inspire, and empower students, ensuring they achieve their academic and personal potential.

We work closely with local authorities, schools, and families to provide bespoke education and support, delivering high-quality learning both in students' homes and in community settings.

Role Overview

As an Outreach Coordinator (Teaching Role), you will be responsible for coordinating students’ induction and educational programmes, as well as delivering personalised education to students across the Midlands. This role combines teaching, pastoral support, and administrative coordination to ensure each student receives a high-quality, tailored learning experience.

You will work closely with students, families, staff, and external agencies to create and implement individualised learning plans, monitor progress, and ensure that educational and well-being needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Student Engagement

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised education to students on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis across various subjects, depending on need.
  • Adapt and differentiate lesson plans to cater to a range of learning abilities, SEND, and EHCP requirements.
  • Use creative and innovative teaching methods to engage students with complex needs, ensuring lessons are accessible and enjoyable.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed.
  • Provide pastoral support to students, helping them build confidence, resilience, and positive learning attitudes.

2. Coordination & Case Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for allocated students, families, and external professionals, ensuring clear communication and updates.
  • Develop and manage personalised learning plans (PLPOs) in line with students' EHCPs and agreed targets.
  • Work collaboratively with SEND teams, therapists, social workers, and local authority representatives to provide holistic support.
  • Organise and lead student review meetings, reporting on academic progress, engagement, and well-being.

3. Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and any safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure all lessons and interactions align with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) regarding any safeguarding concerns or student welfare issues.

4. Administrative & Organisational Duties

  • Plan and coordinate student timetables, ensuring that teaching schedules are manageable and effective.
  • Support the Head of Outreach and National Development Coordinator in reviewing and refining the service provision.
  • Contribute to reports for EHCP reviews, funding applications, and local authority updates.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Level 5 Diploma in Education).
  • Proven experience working with SEND students or those facing barriers to education (e.g., SEMH, ASD, ADHD, medical needs).
  • Experience delivering in an outreach or alternative provision setting (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.

Skills & Attributes

  • Passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple caseloads effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative, while also collaborating as part of a team.
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.

Other Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check; we are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will be subject to a fully enhanced DBS.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel between student locations (travel expenses reimbursed).
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing CPD and training in SEND, safeguarding, and outreach education best practices.
