About the Role

Hardwick Green Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our ambitious and committed team. In September 2025, we will open a new SEND Unit for 16 primary-age children with complex Communication & Interaction / Cognition & Learning needs. This unit is a joint venture with Stockton-on-Tees Local Authority, and access will be through the Local Authority.

This role involves supporting teaching and learning, providing care for pupils in one of the two classes, and covering classes for PPA, leadership time, or other absences.

We are looking for someone who:
  • is a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 4 or above)
  • has recent, relevant experience working with children with complex SEND
  • shows compassion, resilience, and patience
  • holds high regard for children and families, with high expectations for achievement
