Calderwood Nursery School, located in East Calder, serves the local community. The nursery caters to am, pm, and full-day learners aged three to five, with spacious indoor learning areas and a large outdoor garden. Calderwood Nursery is managed by Calderwood Primary School, situated in the same building. The setting operates 50 weeks per year, with staff working flexibly across opening hours.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, full-time Pupil Support Worker to join our nursery team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a forward-thinking team, demonstrating sound knowledge of child development, and responding to the individual needs of each child by providing high-quality interactions and learning experiences.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the start date to become registered with the SSSC. Applications must be submitted within three months of employment start date. If you are already registered with the SSSC, you will need to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This role is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
