Job description

JOB TITLE: Enterprise Manager

BASED: Cynon Linc, Aberdare / home working (working across RCT, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil)

HOURS: 21 hrs per week (with potential to increase)

SALARY: GBP17,103.65 per annum (based on FTE GBP30,135)

TERM: fixed term 2-year contract

RESPONSIBLE TO: Charity Development Lead

The Job

This exciting new post will create a buoyant culture of Social Enterprise, building on progressive partnership working and entrepreneurship for Age Connects Morgannwg. Assisting with the development, delivery, and promotion of a range of existing income generation projects including Simply Nails, Simply Hearing, SupportPlus, and LEAP, you will also explore and develop viable opportunities to expand our enterprise activities.

You will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop partnerships and networks that increase participation and income for the charity. As part of the operational management team, you will be expected to work in a positive, collaborative manner that contributes to strategic growth and furthers the development of Age Connects Morgannwg. All staff are expected to play an active role in the charity's fundraising efforts.

What you'll do
  1. Provide line management to a team of administrative and community-based workers delivering Simply Nails, Simply Hearing, SupportPlus, and LEAP activities across Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, and Bridgend, including full management responsibilities.
  2. Provide effective supervision, support, and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery by your staff.
  3. Identify training needs for your team, participate in evaluations, team meetings, and income reviews.
  4. Ensure financial processes are followed.
  5. Collaborate with the Head of Communications to manage social media, marketing, and promotion of activities.
  6. Uphold quality assurance standards and demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
  7. Produce reports as requested by your Line Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
  8. Attend training for professional development and participate in supervision/appraisals.
  9. Represent the organization at events and meetings, maintaining a professional image.
  10. Gather and analyze statistical data on income services, maintaining monitoring systems.
  11. Develop and support new services, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  12. Build relationships with external groups and organizations to promote activities and income services.
  13. Manage risks according to the organization's policy.
  14. Perform any other duties reasonably required by your Line Manager.

All staff and volunteers are expected to respond appropriately to concerns regarding the abuse or inappropriate treatment of vulnerable adults, including alerting their line manager. Protecting vulnerable adults is a core responsibility.

This is a broad overview of the responsibilities; flexibility is essential as working hours will be determined by business needs.

Please note: A full, valid driving license and access to your own vehicle are required. You must be able to work from the Head Office in Aberdare when required.
