Automotive Interiors Engineer
Work Experience bracket: 15 years
- Minimum 15 years' Experience in Product Development Engineering
- Experience in Automotive Interior Systems, like Cockpit, Console, Cabin Trims, Seating in OEM or component supplier is preferred.
- Responsible for Design & Data releases and technical issue closures for Interiors Systems
- Managing the Vehicle BOMs and Engineering Changes
- Strong Project management skills through Project documentation, trackers & escalations
- Ownership for product development, change management, supplier coordination and issue resolutions
- Coordination with various functional departments
- Creating and managing engineering databases with vehicle categorization and providing the vehicle specs and drawings for homologation certifications.
- Tracking of product testing and validation and issue resolutions
- Ownership of Gateway Deliverables
- Managing Sample trials & Gateway Vehicle Builds
- Timely addressing on customer complaints and field issues and provide resolutions
- Creation and improvement of Engineering processes for quality improvement
- Executing the VA/VE projects to reduce the BOM cost by standardization, commonization and optimization of parts
- Knowledge on APQP, Quality systems, DFMEA, DVP, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving techniques and experience performing engineering calculations
