Salary: £44,044 (including £2,658 non-concessionary payment)
Work Flexibility: Full-time, part-time, or compressed hours with around 40% home working possible depending on needs.
GCHQ is an intelligence, cyber, and security agency dedicated to UK safety, working with MI5 and MI6 to combat terrorism, cyber-attacks, and espionage. We foster a supportive, inclusive environment emphasizing teamwork.
Your responsibilities include detecting and responding to malware outbreaks, insider threats, DDoS attacks, and phishing. Daily tasks involve investigating alerts, analyzing logs and network traffic, creating detection content, and reviewing past notifications. You will also lead process improvements and mentor junior staff, with opportunities to explore Digital Forensics and security incident support.
Applicants should have a background in cyber security analysis, with at least 6 months of experience as a SOC analyst. Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS is required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Training will be provided for areas like host intrusion detection.
We support your growth through internal and external training, industry qualifications like SANS and CISSP, and opportunities to attend conferences. Travel is optional and infrequent.
Starting salary of £44,044, with benefits including 25-30 days annual leave, holiday pay, performance recognition, season ticket loans, pension scheme, cycle scheme, onsite facilities, and parental leave.
