SEN Teaching Assistant - Aspiring Clinical Psychologist - Autism - Primary and Secondary - Woking

This school is renowned as one of the best SEN schools in Surrey, providing a safe learning environment for children with complex learning, social, and communication difficulties, which may include physical disabilities. They offer therapies such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music, and speech and language therapies as part of a young person's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The team collaborates closely with therapists to ensure comprehensive physical and emotional support for the children. The school boasts excellent facilities, including a therapy pool, sensory rooms, and I-Gaze technology, along with on-site training and support to aid career progression to roles such as senior support assistants, teachers, and therapy assistants.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant - Aspiring Clinical Psychologist - Autism - Woking
  • Providing assistance and support for children before, during, and after lessons
  • Helping children understand and participate in tasks appropriately
  • Encouraging the development of social skills
  • Maintaining individual student records
  • Supporting the development of confidence and motivation
  • Participating in team meetings and training programs as an active team member
  • Supporting the organization's developing culture in collaboration with managers and colleagues
  • Adhering to safeguarding regulations
  • Supporting individual needs, including assisting with medical and personal care tasks (training provided), and providing physical support when necessary
