Role overview

This role is pivotal within the Submarine Solutions business unit and involves contributing to the development and delivery of submarine systems and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Working as part of an Integrated Development Team to develop and deliver submarine systems and capabilities.
2. Ensuring that Product Safety tasks and activities are completed across multiple systems in support of project milestones.
3. Supporting Hazard Identification and Analysis studies.
4. Assisting with or generating safety reports.
5. Ensuring the team operates within the project Safety Management System.
6. Liaising with other Integrated Development Teams and the Whole Boat Safety Team.

Job Requirements:

1. Understanding of Safety and Systems Engineering and Engineering Life Cycle Management.
2. Experience working and delivering tasks as part of a team, with the ability to work unsupervised.
3. Practical experience as a Product Safety Engineer, preferably within the maritime defence sector.
4. Ability to adapt to varied working practices and customer expectations.
5. Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Location: Filton or Barrow.
7. Attendance: 2 days a fortnight (SSNA working pattern).
