Job description

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our People Team as a People Partner in the food manufacturing industry.

To partner with business leaders, providing coaching and driving change to grow talent, simplify organisations, and lead people through the delivery of people plans and commercially focused HR solutions as part of one People team.

In this role, you will have the chance to showcase your leadership skills, work closely with employees at all levels, and thrive in a busy and challenging environment.

You will be responsible for overseeing HR operations, driving initiatives, and collaborating with leadership to support the company's strategic goals.

Your background in retail, manufacturing, distribution, or hospitality will be a valuable asset as you navigate the unique demands of the food manufacturing sector.

The People Partner works in close collaboration with the site senior leadership team, our national People team, People Services team, and Centres of Excellence.

As our People Partner, you will be instrumental in driving compliance management, workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, engagement, and leadership development activities, while driving high performance and excellence.

Enabled by SAP SuccessFactors, you will use data insights and intelligence to inform and influence the people agenda, ensuring activity is focused and outcome-based.

Bellshill bakery is located between Glasgow and Edinburgh and proudly supports Scotland as our Scottish Manufacturing site with nearly 300 colleagues working various shift patterns. With two bread plants, we produce a variety of products and are the sole producer of Milk Roll for the UK, producing just under a million units weekly.

Our distribution teams deliver 1 million products per week to over 1,000 customers daily, covering 35,000 km per week. In 2022, we celebrated our 25th anniversary.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  1. Partner with senior management on the implementation and execution of the Lead for Growth strategy and key people processes. Provide performance coaching to leaders to grow talent, simplify organisations, and lead and engage people.
  2. Develop and execute People Plans, initiatives, and actions aligned with business plans and goals, supporting local and functional needs, and improving people capability and performance indicators.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance on People matters, bringing expertise, insights, and fostering a continuous improvement approach to support decision-making locally and nationally.
  4. Ensure a positive employee experience to keep people engaged, aligned with an employer of choice ethos and Warburtons' values.
  5. Drive empowerment and self-service capabilities of our people, collaborating with People Services, Resourcing, and Advisor teams to ensure timely, relevant support.
  6. Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to represent the voice of the internal customer, ensuring central initiatives are fit for purpose and implemented effectively.
  7. Maintain continuous professional development (CPD), share knowledge, and encourage team development.
  8. Proven experience as an HR/People business partner within FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, or Distribution environments.
  9. Experience in leading and coaching people, supporting change, and working with trade unions or colleague forums.
  10. Extensive knowledge across HR functions, regarded as a trusted advisor by senior colleagues and leadership.
