NTT DATA is currently looking for a z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps for our growing team in the UK. This role offers a remote working arrangement with occasional visits to the client site in Sheffield.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills, to join an established and growing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF, and Splunk
2. Involvement in performance-related tasks and projects, including WLM and PR/SM changes
3. Upgrading, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system
4. Supporting ISV products, particularly from IBM and Broadcom vendors

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming (essential)
• Knowledge of iWS scheduling software
• Knowledge of SAS
• Desirable: knowledge of MXG and MICS
• Proficiency in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx
• Experience with IBM and Broadcom products and ability to work independently
• Excellent problem determination skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Availability for off-hours support and participation in an on-call rota
• Ability to set and achieve challenging goals, exceeding standards
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly
• Ability to build effective networks and develop trustful relationships
• Experience in creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans
• Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance

DevOps skillset (at least a selection of the following):

• Github, Ansible Automation Platform, Nexus, Hashicorp Vault, Zowe, z/OSMF, Python, APIs, Grafana, Splunk

Additional desirable skills (not essential):

• Assembler, Automation, Job Scheduling, ACF2/RACF, GDPS, SAS, MXG
