Job Description
As the Group Corporate Accountant based in White City, West London, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for our corporate head office. This includes managing month-end close, finance costs, cash flow forecasting, and business partnering to provide detailed insights to senior stakeholders. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will collaborate closely with various functions to ensure alignment and accuracy while driving process improvements.
Key Accountabilities
- Monthly Reporting
- Take full ownership of the month-end close process, including preparing and posting all actuals from bank transactions, accruals, finance costs, and other P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow items.
- Ensure the process is completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and submit financial control and FP&A packs promptly after month-end, including variance analysis.
- Collaborate with group executives to provide business insights for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and controls during month-end close.
- Analyze non-recurring items and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
- Manage accounting for finance costs, including external borrowings.
- Lead short-term cash flow forecasting, providing insights and commentary on movements and trends.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead preparation of the corporate budget and reforecasts, ensuring alignment across P&L lines.
- Provide insights during budgeting and reforecasting, working with stakeholders.
- Manage forecast uploads into financial systems, ensuring accuracy.
- Banking and Cash Management
- Oversee preparation and approval of bank payments, ensuring compliance.
- Maintain corporate banking systems and complete bank reconciliations timely.
- Ad-hoc Financial Support and Insights
- Collaborate with group functions on strategic projects and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc reporting and analysis for senior management.
- Drive process improvements, focusing on automation and efficiency.
- Support working capital insights across the group.
The Successful Applicant
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Experience within a multi-site organization, preferably in retail, leisure, or hospitality sectors (desirable).
- Experience managing banking systems/payments and IFRS loan accounting (desirable).
- Experience managing end-to-end month-end processes with accuracy.
- Ability to provide insightful commentary and analysis for stakeholders.
- Experience leading budgeting and reforecast processes.
- Strong business partnering and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive automation and process improvements.
- Experience delivering ad-hoc analysis and supporting strategic initiatives.
What's on Offer
- Salary £70,000 - £79,000 depending on experience.
