Job Title: Director, ERP Business Systems

Department: IT

FLSA: Exempt

Position Summary

The Director, ERP Business Systems is a critical member of the IT Corporate Systems Team. Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and management of Insulet’s SAP S4/HANA and other associated corporate systems. The Director will ensure alignment with business objectives, enhance operational efficiency, and support the company’s growth. The Director will lead the IT SAP Functional resources, collaborate with other Insulet internal departments, and manage vendor relationships to delivery S4/HANA solutions. The Director will work hand in hand with the IT Global ERP Development and technology director, ADO Director and other key stakeholders to deliver SAP functionality.

As the Director, ERP Business Systems, you will align Business and IT Corporate Systems strategies and priorities, plan technology projects and programs, enhance business value, and help to deliver technology solutions and services to achieve the desired business outcomes. You and your team will work closely with the business to gain in-depth understanding of business strategies, processes, services, roadmaps and the context in which the business operates. You and your team will also provide mentorship to the business regarding vendors and technical trends and analyze the total impact on the organization when making or facilitating project or program decisions. This role is key to understanding and detailing the capabilities needed to address business challenges.

  • Works with multi-functional teams to implement the businesses’ strategic initiatives
  • Participates in design meetings with business and technical team members
  • Identifies innovative technical and process solutions that drive the desired performance in cost, quality, compliance, customer service and revenue
  • Handles changes in business priorities, funding, scope, and timing to maintain alignment between business expectations and IT Department plans and budgets
  • Collaborates with key multi-functional leaders to handle the lifecycle of assigned applications and/or tools
  • Identifies key performance metrics by collaborating with customers, colleagues, and other functional teams; uses key metric indicators to improve business processes and drive continuous improvement.

The Director will be responsible to lead, implement and manage governance processes to ensure accurate creation, staffing and forecasting of approved programs, projects and initiatives. The Director must be an expert at project/program delivery, change management, stakeholder/sponsor management, coaching, developing and leading staff members as well as be willing to dive into the details of strategies and activities as needed.

As Insulet executes its current strategy for product and geographic expansion, the team will continue evolving to support business and regional partners across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong trust-based relationship with Business partners through listening and alignment of priorities, resulting in the formulation and execution of strategies.
  • Manage the Global SAP Functional team, setting high standards and driving alignment, collaboration, and continued professional development. Manage team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, and ensure project efficiency
  • Drive a performance-based culture through accountability, coaching and mentoring of direct reports, and providing regular feedback to foster leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen
  • Contribute to long-range planning and budgetary planning at the program level.
  • Facilitate decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving with people at all levels of the organization to accomplish shared goals
  • Collaborate with the Agile Delivery Office to deliver projects and enhancements using various delivery methods like waterfall, agile (Scrum and Kanban) methodologies
  • Develop and Manage KPI Performance Reporting and Analysis. Develop, track, analyze and publish related reports, scorecards and performance trends.
  • Identify and mitigate risk associated with corporate systems, ensuring data security and compliance (FDA and SOX)
  • Maintain Relationships. Oversee relationships with third party vendors, review and process contracts, and manage third party consultants. Contribute and support IT intake process working with business partners, ADO, and business process owners and other stakeholders
  • Share ideas with the global process owners. Connects groups to develop global solutions. Assist in the evaluation of third party tools for feasibility and impact to the business. Support the creation and execution of the product roadmap for each geographical region.
  • Identify and champion best practices in SAP design and execution, including the use of tools and processes to drive efficiency, alignment, and effective planning. Drive to create high performing corporate systems team.
  • Oversee OPEX and CAPEX budgets for the team and assigned projects
  • Effectively manage multiple activities and responsibilities concurrently
  • Perform other duties as required

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; and 15+ years of IT and experience working on large projects or programs related to ERP
  • Management experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and management of complex projects and leadership to help deliver on initiatives to drive key outcomes
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing and developing people is required
  • Outstanding leadership skills including an innovative approach to problem-solving, and an integrated view of the business
  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and related business applications is desired
  • Experience working for a public highly regulated/validated company with International multi company, multi currency experience is strongly desired
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of least the following SAP systems and processes best practices:

− Order to Cash

− Procure to Pay

− Financial Plan to Report

− Master Data Management

− Plan to Produce - Manufacturing, QM and Plant Maintenance

− Source to Pay

− Inventory to Deliver

− SAP Security

  • Integration with Salesforce, other Business systems and 3PL
  • Proven ability to provide business analysis and system development/configuration deliverables related to process improvement.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or any other regulatory controlled industry.
  • SAP S/4 HANA certifications preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of the software and systems development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Reporting is a PLUS
