What you'll be doing

  1. Engage with the Subcontractors at all stages from ITT to Final commissioning and Handover.
  2. Ensure that Subcontract packages are delivered to programme, budget, safety and quality expectations/standards.
  3. Ensure packages comply with good design practice and relevant technical group standards.
  4. Ensure that the package is executed with minimum rework.
  5. Ensure accurate and complete records are kept in accordance with the M&E control sheet, this should include; RFIs, CE's, EWN's, WPPs, ITPs, Record Drawings and other project communications/deliverables.
  6. The engineer responsible for a package of works will ensure that the document control sheet is maintained progressively and that relevant team members are aware of any potential impacts.
  7. The engineer will ensure that communication trackers are updated, regardless of platform self-generated registers.
  8. Ensure that plant, access, labour and materials are planned and organised in accordance with appropriate interfaces for the associated works, this should include any procurement activity relevant to a package.
  9. Ensure the relevant RIBA 4/5 design deliverables are reviewed, accurate and fit for purpose prior to works commence.
  10. Concisely produce/review the WPP and ITP for a particular activity, this will ensure quality assurance mechanisms are contextualised, four weeks prior to works start (progressively check).
  11. Produce technical input SoW in accordance with the relevant QS, suitable for an ITT.
  12. Identifying risks to the Project Management team associated with the delivery of their works raising EWNs as appropriate.
  13. Monitor performance of supply chain against planned activities and escalate as required to achieve planned output.
  14. Draft site instructions for review and issue by Project Management team including detailed descriptions of works required, location, programme impact, cost impact and reference to any client led change event.
  15. Become familiar and adhere to BB policy/procedure and contract details, procedures/processes that are required for safe and timely execution. This includes proficiency in platforms such as BC undertaking training as required.
  16. Support the QA function by completing various tours and quality check-sheets for the relevant package of works.
  17. Manage time and complete daily diaries, contribute to any other reporting format applicable.

Who we're looking for

  1. Suitably qualified and experienced within the Building Services and Construction Industry.
  2. Hold the Relevant ECS/CSCS card and SMSTS.
  3. Knowledge of Defence M&E Specifications.
  4. High levels of integrity.
  5. Able to constantly focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  6. Leadership skills developing.
  7. Targeting and actively progressing professional accreditation (eg ICE, IHT).
