A compassionate individual is sought to assist a young person in maintaining independence at home. This role involves providing support tailored to fluctuating health conditions, including mental health and physical challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of these difficulties and be patient in building trust over time. Flexibility in hours is essential, as the support required may vary weekly. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in someone's daily life while working in a supportive environment.
Care Assistant for a young person P/T @ £13.74/hr in Morpeth - Morpeth - NE61
I am looking to find the right support for me, someone who can support me to continue to live as independently as possible in my own home. I live alone with my cat. I face several challenges daily due to my mental health, physical health, suspected autism, and confirmed ADHD (currently on waiting list for ADHD treatment).
I have multiple health conditions. Some of the main big ones that affect me the most are Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Please note that not all my conditions are listed in this advert – I have a lot more than what’s mentioned here. Most of my conditions fluctuate regularly, and I will have good days and bad days. Some days I might need more help, some days I may not need as much.
Every day is different so please don’t expect the same situation each day. I would like a personal assistant who has a good knowledge and understanding of my difficulties and needs. I will need to build trust with you at a slow pace, and this may take some time.
Hours of work – 6 hrs per week but this would be a gradual build-up to this, and some weeks my health may dictate less/more hours.
Rate of Pay: £13.74 per hour. A car driver would be a huge advantage as public transport is a big struggle for me. A DBS and references will be required, and these will be requested by Northumberland County Council.
