Job Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the Homes & Communities Finance Teams within Financial Management, providing strategic finance advice and business partnering support to various Council services and Directorates.
- Support for Transformation Projects: Support transformation and business-led projects within Homes & Communities by providing timely and robust financial information to aid decision-making, and ensure budgets are realigned to meet savings targets.
- Financial Support and Compliance: Support Senior Management and budget managers in budget management, ensuring compliance with Financial Standing Orders and related policies.
- Strategic Financial Planning: Offer financial leadership and strategic advice to develop robust financial plans, reflecting the future needs of the service in the Council's medium-term financial forecast (MTFF).
- Financial Advice and Information: Provide high-quality financial advice and timely information to Directors and budget managers, promoting a self-service culture in budget management through a business partnering model.
- Financial Modelling: Lead on financial modelling of demand-led budgets within Homes & Communities, ensuring robust forecasts and informed decision-making based on trend data.
- Accounting and Legislative Support: Support statutory accounting processes, external audits, and adapt to legislative changes impacting finance.
- Internal Collaboration: Maintain effective relationships within the Finance directorate to support strategic financial planning, training, and development.
- External Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders to enhance service performance and continuous improvement.
