Your new company
Hays are working with a public sector organisation that is seeking a proactive and compassionate Health & Wellbeing Advisor to support employee wellbeing and engagement. This role involves advising managers on best practices in employee support, managing sickness absence processes, and promoting a positive workplace culture through health and wellbeing initiatives.
Your new role
As an HR Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Develop and deliver health and wellbeing policies, procedures, and training.
  • Offer confidential support to employees facing personal or work-related challenges.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health referrals and manage related data and reporting.
  • Lead wellbeing initiatives and contribute to employee engagement strategies.
  • Stay current with wellbeing trends, legislation, and best practices.
  • Support HR systems implementation and performance monitoring.
  • Supervise HR staff and participate in recruitment and change management activities.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong HR advisory experience, particularly in wellbeing and absence management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy.
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting using HR systems.
  • Experience of delivering training and working with external support agencies.
  • Third level qualification or equivalent AND a minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources, OR a minimum of five years' experience in Human Resources



What you'll get in return

  • £19.73 per hour
  • 36 hours per week
  • Temporary contract until at least 31st August 2025
