Job Description:

Main purpose of the role

Assist nurses daily in meeting residents' physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual needs, delivering high standards of care that promote privacy, dignity, independence, rehabilitation, and personal choice.

Main duties and responsibilities
  1. Provide experiences that promote choice and independence, positively impacting residents' daily lives.
  2. Deliver high standards of care in daily activities, assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and continence management.
  3. Deliver and evaluate planned care in collaboration with residents, families, and stakeholders.
  4. Undertake clinical tasks such as observations, urinalysis, skin inspections, simple wound dressings, blood glucose monitoring, PEG care, and feeding administration.
  5. Support nurse supervision of staff and ensure accurate documentation.
  6. Assist in staff supervisions and assessments of new residents.
  7. Support nutritional reviews, social work reviews, and resident assessments.
  8. Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  9. Manage aspects of medication in line with legal and company policies.
  10. Contribute to staff development through coaching and mentoring.
  11. Record and communicate key observations respecting confidentiality, acting as a Key Worker for designated residents.
  12. Escort residents to hospital and professional visits.
  13. Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free environment.
  14. Report changes or concerns promptly and complete relevant documentation.
  15. Support social activities and encourage resident participation.
