About the Role

Leeds City College is recruiting an Engineering Teacher/Assessor to join our team. As an Engineering Teacher/Assessor at Printworks Campus, you will play a key role in shaping future engineers. Your main responsibilities include delivering engaging teaching sessions, designing innovative teaching methods, and ensuring students are well-prepared for careers in engineering.

Additionally, you will contribute to developing the engineering curriculum, keeping it current with industry trends and technological advancements. This involves creating new course materials, updating existing ones, and participating in curriculum reviews.

This role requires a dedicated individual with a passion for engineering education, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and the community.

What You Will Do

The role focuses on visiting workplaces and assessing apprentices studying the Engineering Apprenticeship standards. You will handle all administrative tasks related to assessments and apprenticeships and provide prompt, constructive feedback to candidates.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Engineering lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 learners.
  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet learners' needs.
  • Assess and give feedback on student progress.
  • Support learners in achieving their educational goals.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning experience.

About You

  • Qualified to Level 4 or above in Engineering (Mechatronics or Mechanical)
  • Experience working within the Engineering Industry
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to creating excellent learning experiences
  • In-depth teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering; qualification as an assessor and teacher is preferred but support will be provided if not yet qualified

Salary: £33,352 per annum, progressing to £38,651 per annum.
