Registration Service Driver
Permanent, Part Time
£25,081 Per Annum (full time equivalent)
Location: Chelmsford
Working Style: Operational field-based worker
This is a fantastic opportunity working closely with Registration Officers and the Registration Management team, with a work vehicle provided. The role involves:
A work mobile will be provided, and WhatsApp usage is essential for this role.
While weekly routes are set, flexibility is required to support the service's needs.
Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday completing 18.5 hours per week. Start time: Negotiable-details to be discussed at interview.
Actual salary based on 18.5 hours per week £12,540 per annum.
Interviews will be held in County Hall, Chelmsford week commencing 26th May 2025.
Job Purpose
The Registration Service ensures Essex County Council's (ECC) statutory and legal obligations and General Register Office (GRO) requirements regarding the registration of ECC citizen life events to include births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, and citizenship ceremonies are met.
This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of registration stock and paperwork to multiple site locations across Essex, ensuring compliance with the Highway Code and ECC driver guidelines. The role plays a key part in maintaining the security and integrity of sensitive registration materials during transit.
Effective time management and route planning are essential, as the role will follow a predefined schedule of deliveries and collections. Clear communication of any issues or delays is critical to ensure the smooth operation of the service and maintain high standards of service delivery.
