Job description

Unique opportunity for a property litigation lawyer to move in-house as part of a highly regarded in-house team of 5. Reporting to the Principal Solicitor for Property, you will spend an average of 2 days per week in the office that will include site visits to various parts of the south-east ( including most of the Southern Home Counties). This is a London Office based role. The role is also open to candidates looking to work 4 days per week; with 2 office days as detailed above remaining a core component of the role.

The role is an excellent first move from private practice or from another in-house role for candidates seeking a new challenge.

This is a hands on and broad ranging role where you will be dealing with the board one day, and issues with site operatives the next, at key operating sites. You must be willing to travel and having a car is advantageous but not mandatory.

Success in the role will be driven by your ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing prompt, effective, pragmatic and accurate legal advice on all aspects of litigation with property and utilities elements in order to minimise the financial and legal risks to the company. Advising the business on overbuilds, rights of access, property damage claims, breaches of property agreements and injunctions. Drafting and responding to letters before action. Dealing with breaches of easements, letters before action, debt claims and trespass issues Complaints and Customer Services Adverse possession claims

Working in a business that is regulated, any experience of working within a utility is advantageous but not mandatory. Also, you will be a pro-active individual who seeks out solutions in the first instance; while also protecting the needs of the business.
