Equipment Maintenance Technician - EQUANS

EQUANS is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Carlisle on a permanent basis within the Services Department. This full-time role involves working 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 15:30, with an additional call-out rota. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

The Depot Maintenance Technician will ensure high standards of accuracy in work order completion, aligned with Planned Maintenance Schedules for Emergency Deployable equipment, including Generators, Lighting Towers, Fuel IBC/Trailers. Responsibilities include first-line maintenance, fault diagnosis, and ensuring equipment readiness for emergency deployment in the Nuclear Industry. The role involves configuring deployment tranches, assessing post-deployment equipment, and supporting training and equipment movement activities.

Health & Safety and Qualifications:

Technicians must adhere to all company procedures, emphasizing Health and Safety, including risk assessments and toolbox talks. An LGV Licence is desirable, and experience with Fork Lift Trucks is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided.

Impact & Complexity:

The role requires strict adherence to maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime, crucial for emergency response capabilities and financial impact. The candidate must be a logical thinker, trustworthy, calm under pressure, and capable of effective emergency response.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Yellow activities: Experience with plant and diesel engines, mechanical/electrical aptitude, LGV license, forklift experience desirable.
• Red activities: Experience with plant, engines, or machinery; NVQ2 or equivalent in related mechanical fields; apprenticeship or higher qualifications preferred.
