Job Description:

As one of the largest independent people communications agencies in the UK, Blackbridge Communications helps household name brands attract and engage talent. Located in Spitalfields, London, we create and deliver creative campaigns across all channels, including digital, social, outdoor, and experiential.

We are dedicated to delivering exceptional work for our clients—Aviva, Amazon, and Rolls-Royce are a few examples—and as an employee-owned business, everyone has a stake in our success. Join our team of 45 Creatives, Strategists, Client Partners, and Delivery specialists, and share in this success.

We are seeking a hybrid designer/frontend developer to join our small multidisciplinary team, producing engaging and interactive websites for diverse clients. The role requires high technical and design skills, involving all project stages from briefing to production.

You will create well-executed design mock-ups and develop attractive, accessible responsive web interfaces.

You’ll participate in:

  • Early-stage idea generation and planning
  • Building UX prototypes
  • Designing user interfaces in Figma
  • Building interactive, accessible web front-ends using modern technologies
  • Developing solutions from design to technical implementation
  • Collaborating with project managers to understand client needs

Skills & experience:

  • Experience in digital design or front-end development
  • Knowledge of UX/UI best practices
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS
  • Experience with git
  • Research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visualize original designs from briefs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest and engagement with AI solutions

We welcome applications from candidates with a broad skill set, whether more design-oriented or development-focused, provided you can demonstrate both. A passion for digital communication, interfaces, and technology is essential.

Our process includes:

  • An initial discussion with our People Coordinator
  • An interview with our Lead Developer and Head of People, focusing on experience and competencies (in-person or online)
  • A personality questionnaire to assess your working style
  • A final interview with the Head of Digital, Lead Developer, and Digital Project Manager, where you can showcase your portfolio and ask questions

As an employee-owned company, after 12 months, you’ll become a Partner and share in our profits. We foster a supportive environment with regular check-ins, work-life balance, social events, and benefits such as holiday allowances, health and wellbeing programs, and flexible hybrid working arrangements (3 days in the office, 2 from home, with Mondays in-office).
