Job description

Term-Time Room Leader

We are working on behalf of a quality day nursery based near Leicester. This stimulating and caring environment is looking for an experienced TERM-TIME ROOM LEADER to lead the practice in their Toddler Room.

The successful applicant must have a minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification or equivalent, possess a true passion for childcare, and have experience in a lead role with an understanding that each child is unique, striving to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning of activities that meet children’s needs and are built around their interests, ensuring implementation across the nursery.
  • Ensure that children are cared for to the highest standards.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, leading on this across the preschool.
  • Follow health and safety requirements, reporting concerns and maintaining safety for children in all areas.
  • Understand safeguarding responsibilities and duties, reporting concerns to the manager and Children’s Services as appropriate.
  • Be a good role model for staff, leading practice and supporting the professional development of other staff.
  • Promote learning through the curiosity approach, ensuring the continued development of the environment and resources which foster curiosity, awe, and wonder.
  • Support staff in meeting the needs of children with special needs and/or disabilities.
  • Assist all assistants as they learn while working, helping them to develop their skills.
