Disability and Health Project Coordinator

Center for Leadership in Disability/Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development

The Center for Leadership in Disability in the Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development, School of Public Health, is looking to hire a Disability and Health Project Coordinator to support and manage funded research and demonstration projects. The role involves coordinating project activities, ensuring compliance with protocols and sponsor guidelines, maintaining documentation, and addressing project challenges. The candidate will collaborate with partners, consultants, and stakeholders to drive project success, contribute to professional dissemination, and assist with grant proposal development. Additionally, the position includes fostering relationships with participants, advisory boards, and community organizations, utilizing technology to broaden the project's reach, and developing educational programs to benefit the community. This role also requires participation in meetings, some travel, and flexibility in performing various tasks to ensure the project's goals are met.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Work with principal investigators on funded projects.
  2. Serve as project coordinator for research and demonstration projects.
  3. Collaborate with project staff, partners, and consultants to ensure project activities are conducted according to plan.
  4. Maintain project documentation. Ensure that project implementation and reporting are conducted according to defined protocols and sponsor guidelines. Resolve problems and concerns.
  5. Contribute to manuscripts, professional presentations, and other dissemination products.
  6. Support grant proposal development.
  7. Recruit and maintain relationships with project participants, advisory board members, and partnering organizations.
  8. Utilize technology to expand the reach of project efforts across the state.
  9. Work with community education staff to sustain and expand training and community education activities.
  10. Serve as liaison between CLD and partnering organizations that share the goals of dissemination of information and promoting awareness of disabilities and related resources.
  11. Develop programs that benefit the community.
  12. Oversee scheduling/logistics for and participate in project-specific meetings including internal team meetings, meetings with contractors/consultants, and meetings with funders/other grantees.
  13. Ability to travel, mostly in-state, with some overnight travel required.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a High School Diploma or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
