Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Distressed Loan Closer at Barclays, focusing on managing distressed and Loan Market Association (LMA) secondary loan trades. You will oversee trades from execution to closing, ensuring processes are handled accurately and efficiently.

To succeed as a Distressed Loan Closer, candidates should have experience with:

  • Previous experience in a loan closing or settlement role.
  • Excellent knowledge of LMA loan documentation, rules, regulations, and settlement processes.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of complex trades under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Clearpar, with willingness to prepare manual documents.

This role is based at our Glasgow office.

Purpose of the role

Support Wholesale Lending with daily processing, review, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.

Accountabilities
  • Support daily Wholesale Lending activities, including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor lending operations for efficiency, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate across teams to align and improve processes.
  • Identify improvement areas and recommend changes.
  • Develop and implement procedures and controls to mitigate risks and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Create reports and presentations on performance and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify industry trends and adopt best practices.
  • Participate in projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
