Job Description:

Join our Global Banking (GB) Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) and Legal Regulatory Change Management (LRCM) Program team as Control Manager – Program. This role offers the opportunity to expand your knowledge within Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Global Banking, build lasting relationships, and gain exposure to senior leadership. GB’s OCLO and LRCM Program team is a central function within Controls and Continuity Services that supports all GB lines of business globally and partners with all GB functions (Legal, Compliance, Risk and Control) to ensure ongoing compliance with the current regulatory environment.The team leads the OLO/LRCM program execution for GB which involves a proactive identification of regulatory changes from Regulators, evaluation of GB impact, and providing project management expertise to our stakeholders to implement solutions.The team interacts with other lines of business' as well.

As an Associate within the Global Banking OLO/LRCM Program team, you will oversee and support the business by managing the OLO and LRCM Program deliverables. You will engage with control managers across Global Banking and cross-functional teams, ensure proper reg documentation, provide insights to senior leadership, and develop your analytical and problem-solving skills. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage OLO and LRCM deliverables, including regulation review and control documentation
  • Lead village calls to review obligations and reg changes with control managers and other partners
  • Represent Global Banking on OLO/LRCM triage calls to determine impact and mapping to business processes and controls as well as reliance on other areas
  • Assist control partners in determining potential regulatory gaps and work together to resolve
  • Develop presentations, analysis and supporting materials for key internal clients including senior management
  • Lead, participate and support ad-hoc special projects and requests as needed
  • Engage with cross CIB partners and other OLO/LRCM colleagues across the firm on program deliverables

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial services with compliance or operations
  • Sound judgment, professional maturity and personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and comfortable with changing priorities
  • Team oriented, critical thinker who anticipates questions from internal clients and senior management
  • Adept at interpreting legal text as a layperson (note: formal legal qualifications are not required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present updates, requests, ideas and other communications in a professional, clear and concise manner

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Program or project management experience
  • Legal, Compliance or other regulatory experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Banking products and businesses
  • Able to quickly shift gears and work on projects of varying nature with individuals across different regions, levels and functions
