Position Summary

The Software Engineer - Information Management & Reporting (IM&R) is responsible for developing and delivering scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment.

This role is classified as Grid Level 24, with a salary range of $92,418 - $105,910 per year, including a 9.4% Temporary Market Adjustment (TMA).

Primary Duties

• Develop front-end (user interface) and back-end (database) solutions across platforms using mobile-first and test-driven design.
• Coordinate projects, provide direction, prepare documentation, and manage project plans, schedules, and resources.
• Analyze, design, and implement applications to meet user requirements.
• Participate in database projects, contribute to data warehouse architecture, and ensure optimal configurations.
• Design, code, update, and maintain applications, recommending upgrades and enhancements.
• Implement automated processes for building, testing, documenting, and deploying applications at scale.
• Advise on technology choices, evaluate products, and assess risks.
• Ensure client requirements are understood and met throughout project lifecycle.
• Interpret infrastructure and system requirements, contributing to system design.
• Evaluate new technologies for potential integration and business benefit.
• Identify system issues and manage contractors for improvements.
• Collaborate within an agile environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate as a subject matter expert in working groups and committees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field + 2 years of experience, OR
• Diploma + 3 years, OR
• Certificate/coursework + 4 years, OR

Equivalent experience may be considered, including:

• Experience as an Intermediate Stack Developer.
• Experience with API development, integration, and CI/CD environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of agile methodologies.

Travel and work location: Hybrid model in Victoria or Vancouver, BC, with occasional in-person meetings.
