Job description

The Solutions Architect will lead the creation of the overall business systems architecture and processes, applying agreed development and service design principles. The scope includes all customer-facing systems (online, mobile, on-site) and all IT systems used by colleagues across sites, head office, and field teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Translate business requirements into IT solutions, considering existing IT system complexities, business priorities, and scope.
  2. Provide technical leadership and direction across IT teams for all technical solutions.
  3. Create and maintain roadmaps for technology, applications, and services.
  4. Establish and agree on a data model to support business management and operations with the Data Architect.
  5. Contribute to and agree on the Infrastructure Roadmap with the Infrastructure Architect and Security Manager.
  6. Align plans and proposals with corresponding Business Plan components.
  7. Ensure data controls, systems, and services adhere to compliance standards set by the Security team.
  8. Work with the Business Change team and stakeholders to monitor progress of initiatives.
  9. Contribute to business cases supporting proposed investments.
  10. Research industry and technology trends to identify opportunities for customer and operational improvements.
  11. Create and maintain architectures for new and existing solutions aligned with Stonegate’s architecture principles and IT strategy.

Skills, experience, and qualifications:

  1. Several years of extensive experience in Architecture and/or IT development/analysis.
  2. Experience managing suppliers at a senior level.
  3. Experience working in a B2C, customer-focused company.
  4. Strong communication skills to create accurate, informative summaries of complex updates/issues.
  5. Ability to think laterally and holistically, connecting big picture and details.
  6. Proficiency with standard architecture, development, operational principles, and tools.
  7. Ability to translate business problems into solution designs.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Educated to degree level or equivalent, or with relevant practical experience.
  10. TOGAF certification or awareness.
