What You’ll do (the role)
Duties and Responsibilities
BP Reporting
- Post acquisition by bp, LSbp is required to submit consolidated financial data to the bp group on a quarterly basis in bp’s reporting format and in accordance with bp Chart of Accounts, as well as supporting schedules to support the preparation of disclosure related information.
- Responsible for preparing all monthly and quarterly reporting for bp based on closing LSbp consolidated group data.
- Maintain LSbp to bp data integrity, mapping tables and enhance integration with the BP system.
- Work closely with Senior Consolidation and Reporting Lead as well as Head of Group Reporting on quarterly submissions ensuring accuracy and speed of submission ahead of workday 7.
- Respond to ad hoc queries and requests from bp, with support from the Senior Consolidation and Reporting Lead as well as Head of Group Reporting.
- Maintain bp reporting model/workbook, including the management of updates and controls with strong Excel skills essential to manage large volume of data.
- Continue to develop reporting workbooks to drive efficiency in process, automation and ease of review.
Monthly Reporting
- Support the group team through the monthly reporting cycle and month end close process, including: co-ordination of activities and reporting timeline with regional finance teams and the preparation and posting of consolidation journals as required.
- Support the Senior Consolidation and Reporting team with ongoing consolidation and reporting tasks.
- Post centralised journals to support the team and automate journal processes where possible.
Group Reporting
- Continue to enhance the monthly consolidation files including utilising new reporting software (SAC, A40) as applicable.
- Work closely with the group team to enhance automation of annual accounts preparation, supporting notes and quality of month end information.
- Prepare reports that document practical recommendations to resolve issues, including supervising remediation statuses with internal business partners to inspire change and improvement across the organization.
Knowledge & Experience
- Qualified Accountant 1-2 years industry experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Expert using Excel essential and comfortable working with advanced Excel formula including (e.g. Pivot tables, XLOOKUP etc).
- Power Bi desirable.
- Expert in using ERP system (preferably SAP S4 HANA).
