SEU Teacher - Ipswich, Suffolk
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Salary: £31,650.00 - £43,607.00 Annually (Actual) - MPS + SEN Allowance of £5,285.00 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)

Are you a compassionate and experienced teacher with a passion for supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs? Our client, a welcoming primary school based in Ipswich, Suffolk, is seeking a dedicated SEU Teacher to lead a small, specialised provision within the school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons and interventions to support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils in the SEU

  • Create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment

  • Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with the SENCO and wider pastoral team

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies

  • Promote inclusion and enable pupils to reintegrate into mainstream classes where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs

  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable under pressure
