JOB DESCRIPTION: PART TIME RETAIL ASSISTANT
Part Time, SW19 8AB
24-32 hours per week.
CUSTOMERS
- Provide consistently excellent customer service to ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
- Acknowledge customers immediately with friendliness and helpfulness.
- Report customer concerns or queries to the Retail Manager.
- Answer the phone within 4 rings whenever possible.
- Build a sense of community both inside and outside the shop.
TEAM WORK
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the shop by managing your time well and collaborating with colleagues.
- Assist in serving customers, selling baked goods, preparing sandwiches, checking stock, displaying goods, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Maintain a positive attitude—be responsible, professional, cooperative, cheerful, polite, motivated, and proactive.
- Take pride in your work and set a good example for others.
MONEY
- Handle cash responsibly and accurately, ensuring till accuracy.
- Maintain adequate change levels.
- Ensure the security of money, keys, and premises.
- Count money daily before banking.
PRODUCTS
- Know the products, how to serve and display them, and understand stock rotation and waste control.
- Ensure all products are correctly named, categorized, and priced with visible tickets.
- Prevent selling stale or bad goods, and manage waste effectively.
- Display products attractively under the guidance of your Manager.
- Upsell products, including hot drinks and daily specials.
- Keep all goods fresh and suggest new lines or promotions.
ADMIN & PROCEDURES
- Manage paperwork for orders and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Perform daily temperature checks.
CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic workplace.
- Follow basic food hygiene rules.
- Assist with cleaning tasks in the shop and kitchen.
- Maintain personal hygiene and a neat appearance at all times.
