Job summary

Following the government's announcement in January confirming that the Airedale New Hospital Programme is in the NHP first wave, we have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Strategy Director to join us in developing and embedding our clinical strategies for the new hospital for Airedale.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be involved in a major hospital development. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Lead to help take our scheme forward.

The postholder will operate in a complex and ambiguous environment, fostering collaboration and demonstrating good judgment. They will role model behaviors aligned with our organizational values of collaboration, even-handedness, involvement, and impact, encouraging these behaviors in colleagues.

The programme team is newly developing and based at Airedale General Hospital, offering flexible and agile working. Some off-site travel may be required for local events and activities.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Strategy Director will ensure that clinical quality and patient care are central to planning and delivery, including structural works and the development of a new hospital under the Securing the Future Programme.

The postholder will develop the clinical strategy to drive excellent clinical and operational outcomes and support hospital design that maximizes benefits and safeguards future services.

Job description
Job responsibilities

The Clinical Strategy Director will chair the Clinical Workstream, overseeing clinical engagement related to the strategy and out-of-hospital care model.

They will act as the principal clinician, participating in the national clinical workstream, liaising with national colleagues, and translating guidance into the local scheme. They will coordinate with the Programme Director, Head of Transformation, Clinical Design Lead, and Head of Technical to ensure alignment across workstreams.

They will work with the Trust’s Executive Medical Director, Chief Nurse, and Head of Transformation to define the Target Operating Model, ensuring alignment with national guidance and the Workforce Plan.

The Director will develop and embed an assurance framework supporting clinical quality and standards, and oversee clinical input into the RAAC programme to minimize operational impacts, working with AGH Solutions Ltd and the COO.
