The Role

As Commercial Director, you’ll be at the centre of Gravita’s commercial engine. Leading initiatives that improve pricing, optimise contracts, and enhance operational efficiency. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and service line heads to ensure our commercial frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned with our growth ambitions.

You’ll also oversee compliance and risk management, ensuring we operate with integrity and confidence. While legal expertise is valuable, this role is about using that knowledge to enable smart, strategic business decisions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading commercial strategy across contracts, pricing, and supplier relationships
  • Driving improvements in working capital and charging structures
  • Supporting M&A activity and business transformation projects
  • Overseeing compliance, risk, and data protection frameworks
  • Advising senior stakeholders on commercial and operational matters
  • Managing external advisors and ensuring we’re protected and positioned for growth
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

You’re commercially minded, confident in front of senior leaders, and comfortable navigating complex business environments. You’ve likely spent time in a senior commercial or legal role within a professional services, consultancy, or regulated business, and you know how to balance risk with opportunity.

You’ll have:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in commercial or legal leadership
  • A strong understanding of contracts, pricing, and business operations
  • Experience in M&A, compliance, and risk management
  • The ability to influence, lead, and deliver results across teams

You’ll need to be confident, proactive, and strategic, with the ability to lead a function and influence at board level, withexcellentethical standards and integrity. A background in a private equity-backed business would be a bonus.

  • Our standard working week is a 37.5-hour week on a hybrid basis
  • Core working hours are 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday
