JOB DESCRIPTION

Nov is seeking a Fabricator Welder to join our fabrication team in Peterhead. This role offers ongoing training and career progression opportunities. Competitive rates are available for successful candidates.

The successful candidate will work with engineering drawings and blueprints to contribute to high-quality production output. Your role is vital to our success, providing opportunities for continuous development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fabrication Expertise: Be fully familiar with the company's fabricated products and skilled in interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
2. Welding Proficiency: Operate and maintain welding equipment and techniques used in the shop, including achieving or maintaining relevant welding qualifications.
3. Assembly & Quality Control: Assemble components with a focus on quality, meeting production targets and standards.
4. Hand Tool Skills: Use various hand tools proficiently to ensure precise fabrication.
5. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to enhancing systems, practices, and processes within manufacturing.
6. Problem Solving: Address assembly, production, and drawing issues, reporting concerns through proper channels.
7. Preventative Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform maintenance tasks and keep the workspace safe and organized.
8. Resource Efficiency: Minimize waste and manage materials efficiently.
9. Knowledge Development: Keep improving knowledge of production equipment and plant.
10. Compliance & Support: Follow company policies, safety standards, and support other departments as needed.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Time-served fabrication/welding experience.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and proficient in welding techniques.
• Knowledge of welding materials and ASME standards.

Desirable:

• Retained coding in various welding disciplines.
• Experience in similar manufacturing roles and with diverse materials.
• Ability to evaluate technical information.
• OGUK Medical and offshore certification.
