Teacher of Business Education - fixed term until 26/06/2026
The Royal High School

Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week

We are looking for an inspirational and passionate Business Education Teacher to join the Computing and Business Education department at the Royal High School.

The Royal High School is one of the oldest schools in Scotland, with a rich history and a commitment to innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive school, drawing students from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson's Mains.

The school was inspected by HMIE in December 2022.

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) includes the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers, and the Business Manager. The current teaching staff comprises 100 FTE, supported by 21 FTE staff including Pupil Support Assistants who aid student integration. An integrated Additional Support for Learning Team collaborates with Guidance and Support for Learning teams, along with our Enhanced Support and Wellbeing Bases.

The school was refurbished in 2004 and offers high-standard facilities, with extensive use outside normal hours by the school and community. It is designated a Community Sports Hub, with refurbished PE facilities since 2015. The school boasts a vibrant extracurricular program with partnerships and activities for students. Due to increasing enrollment, six huts are in use in the playground, and a new extension is opening in Easter 2024.

The school maintains positive relationships with parents, local businesses, and the community. The Parent Council and Fundraising Group actively contribute to school life. The school also benefits from an engaged Former Pupils' Club.
