Project Engineer

Location: Rochdale

Salary: GBP35,000-GBP45,000

My client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Production Engineer to join their team due to continued growth.

This role involves managing the introduction and coordination of new customer projects and improvements to existing production processes.

Production Engineer Requirements:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems is essential.
• Experience in process improvement and/or continuous improvement is essential.
• Experience with ISO 9001 (2015) or equivalent is advantageous.
• Relevant engineering qualifications.
• Full UK driving license is required.

Production Engineer Duties:

• Collaborate with the Senior Projects Engineer (SPE) and support the Design & Commercial Engineer on project objectives, including new product development, existing product improvement, and new process introduction.
• Coordinate with departments such as Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales for project administration.
• Lead process improvements in Production and Quality departments for existing customer products within agreed timelines.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers to facilitate efficient project implementation.
• Prepare reports for the New Product Implementation (NPI) team regarding project status and relevant information.
• Provide detailed specifications to assist in establishing processes and procedures.
• Maintain strict control of all project documentation.
• Manage internal and customer samples, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Develop product and process knowledge to set up BOMs and Routing.
• Engage with the development of current and potential new ERP systems.
• Review BOMs and Routing on existing products for modifications or improvements.
• Work with the Technical Sales team on cost and price provision for existing and new products.
• Assist in evaluating quoted prices versus actual production costs.
