Job description

This is a senior leadership position responsible for the successful delivery of the Markerstudy Change Portfolio, as well as oversight of the Head of Change Delivery roles and their teams.

This role is hybrid and can be based at our offices in Manchester, London, Southport, Stoke-On-Trent, Peterborough, or Portsmouth.

Typical Accountabilities:

  1. Ensure the delivery of the Markerstudy Change Portfolio safely and efficiently through appropriate Programmes and Projects.
  2. Oversee and line manage the Head of Change Delivery roles and their teams.
  3. Collaborate with the Director of Change Strategy and the Head of PMO to design and update the Portfolio's structure and hierarchy.
  4. Monitor Portfolio performance against KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.

Stakeholder Management

  1. Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including Board and C-suite.
  2. Establish clear responsibilities within the Change Leadership Team, including Change Strategy, Change Delivery, and PMO.
  3. Support teams in removing blockers and resolving escalations.

Assurance

  1. Ensure first-line Quality Assurance for Portfolio, Programmes, and Projects.
  2. Work with the PMO to improve QA processes.
  3. Make decisions within delegated authority limits.
  4. Partner with the Head of PMO to manage risks, dependencies, and issues at the portfolio level.

Process Improvement

  1. Lead process and tooling improvements to reduce cycle times and costs.
  2. Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the Change Function.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Deputise for the Chief Change Officer when required.
  2. Engage in continuous professional development.
  3. Support and coach team members' development.
  4. Perform other duties as necessary.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience leading and managing complex change portfolios (£25m+).
  • Proven ability to develop Heads of Functions and Programme Managers.
  • Experience delivering complex change in industries like Financial Services, Retail, or Technology.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels.
  • Knowledge of delivery methods such as Waterfall and Agile at scale.
  • Insurance industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
