Job Description: Assistant Butler

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an Assistant Butler on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Report to the Butler / House Manager to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled.
  2. Assist in maintaining the security of the family and its contents, ensuring all systems (burglar and fire) are operational at all times. Support the Butler / House Manager in providing training for household staff regarding security measures.
  3. Report to the Butler / House Manager about maintenance issues related to the house, fixtures, fittings, services, and contents; arrange and supervise necessary repairs and works.
  4. Assist in managing the family’s pets, including walking and feeding.
  5. Greet and attend to guests and callers.
  6. Assist with meals and functions as required.
  7. Maintain hunting, riding, and shooting clothes and boots.
  8. Manage and catalog wine and drink supplies.
  9. Maintain and clean all silverware.
  10. Keep public rooms tidy at all times.
  11. Maintain cleanliness and order in the Butler / House Manager Room, Gun Rooms, and Pantry.
  12. Check boilers, heating systems, and fuel tanks; ensure sufficient oil levels.
  13. Organize routine tasks such as chimney sweeping, window cleaning, and maintaining stock of household consumables like lightbulbs.
Location:

Dorset (Live-in)

Salary:

£30,000 – £34,000 per annum. A 2-bedroom flat is provided, rent and council tax free.
