Job description

Family Support Worker (22 hours), Eastchurch

This role is based at HMP Belmarsh, working as part of the Pact Family team. You will provide support, advice, and guidance to families visiting prisoners, support the Cafe Service (a Social Enterprise), and organise play activities for children. The position requires a multi-disciplinary approach across all areas.

You will ensure excellent customer service, treating all customers with respect and providing a welcoming environment consistent with Pact's family services.

Additional Information:
  • This role is open to current casual staff across London and SE Prisons interested in additional hours at Belmarsh.
About You:
  • Experience in customer service and understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.
  • Knowledge of promoting diversity and making services accessible.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with prisoners, families, prison staff, and other agencies.
