Transport Manager

THE ROLE:

1. Reporting into the Logistics General Manager, the Transport Manager will be responsible for a high-profile & fast-paced multi-client transport operation in the Belfast area.
2. Management of multi-client portfolio across various sectors.
3. P&L responsibility for multiple client contracts.
4. Responsibility for circa 30 drivers, 25+ HGV vehicles + an office team of 5.
5. Training of Drivers to deliver a "White-Glove" value-added service to clients as part of their daily tasks.
6. Recruitment, on-boarding and driver retention.
7. You will be front-foot in helping to lead the operation - a big part of this role will be in spotting opportunities to grow revenue for the business.
8. Able to understand client needs and respond to them pro-actively and positively.
9. Management of P&L of approx £1.5m costs, SLA's etc.
10. Compliance and Legislation adherence.
11. Account management of clients - including regular meetings & communication in order to ensure a strong working relationship.

THE PERSON:

1. Transport Manager or Transport Supervisor ideally within fast paced distribution.
2. CPC National certification - ESSENTIAL
3. Demonstrable Transport P&L management experience.
4. Able to commute to the Enniskillen area on a daily basis (parking is provided).
5. Overall management responsibility for at least 10 heads or more.
6. Front-foot & hands-on leadership style - this role is very much a hands-on & full-on transport management role.
7. Able to liaise from shop-floor to Board level.
8. Client-focused person who will proactively manage client relationships.
9. Keen to leave a lasting impact and legacy on the wider business.
10. Someone who wants to play an integral part in building/growing a strong operation.
11. Someone who wants to develop their career with a progressive business.
12. This is a position with an active progression pathway in mind to General Manager level within the medium to long-term.
