Job description

Senior HR Business Partner

Ashley Kate is pleased to partner with a unique and well-established business for an exciting interim opportunity as a Senior HR Business Partner. This 6-month assignment offers a dynamic split-location arrangement: you'll spend two weeks each month in the beautiful Channel Islands, with the rest of your time traveling to locations across the South and Midlands. Travel and accommodation costs are fully covered. The UK base can be in Hampshire or Bath, with a salary circa £75k.

This is not your typical HR role. We're seeking a commercially focused, forward-thinking Senior HRBP who thrives in fast-paced environments and has proven experience in retail or hospitality. Industry experience is essential to understand the operational landscape and stakeholder challenges.

In this role, you will lead transformational change projects, working closely with the senior leadership team to design and deliver organisational change initiatives that align the people strategy with future business needs. Responsibilities include overseeing restructures, managing organisational redesigns, and supporting cultural change. You will also handle employee relations matters such as consultations, engagement, and risk mitigation.

You will lead and influence strategically, shaping the people agenda across the Channel Islands operation. While overseeing and mentoring a small team of HR Managers, your primary focus will be on developing a long-term people strategy, driving engagement, enhancing workforce capability through strategic planning, and developing leadership and talent pipelines across a multi-site, customer-facing environment.

If you are an experienced HR leader ready for a role combining strategic impact, hands-on leadership, and a touch of adventure, we would love to hear from you.

About you
  • Proven experience in luxury hotels, hospitality, high-end restaurants, leisure, or retail.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience advising on HR, management, and employee relations issues within complex organisations.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to manage and mitigate risk in employee relations, with a strong understanding of employment legislation and case management.
  • Experience undertaking investigations and supporting managers during formal procedures, including drafting complex documents.
  • Supportive of managers in improving employee performance and managing organisational change.
  • Skilled in coaching, guidance, and advice to line managers, applying best practices and relevant theories.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a pragmatic approach.
