Job description

Location: Towcester Road, Northamptonshire
Contract: Fixed Term – Bank
Salary: £29,994.00 per annum pro rata
Closing date: 23 February 2025

Are you a passionate, dedicated counsellor looking for your next role? The tenure of the role is Bank – flexible depending on availability and for a fixed term. Start date may be delayed due to the vetting process currently taking up to 3 months.

Do you possess, as a minimum:

  • A recognised counselling qualification
  • Current membership of the BACP or other equivalent body
  • At least 2 years relevant experience (which must include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Client Centred Therapy)
  • Self-discipline and motivation to work with a variety of clients from complex and demanding occupational backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team, and who is compassionate and committed to supporting various service users including the police service and care home professionals.

Working as part of a remote team, you will be supporting various DMWS service users and report to the Team Psychologist.

You will correctly assess referrals, identify needs and the resources required to meet those needs, with unfaltering professionalism and sensitivity. You will interact with DMWS welfare staff and assess the holistic well-being of our service users.

The service will be developed both through face-to-face contact and remotely. You should be willing to work flexibly to meet job demands, which may involve working unsociable hours and travel with occasional overnight stays (expenses will be reimbursed according to company policy).
